Tauber, KasparTauber, Kaspar, d. Vienna, Sept. 19, 1524, (executed), merchant. Stayed in Vienna from 1511, 1519 cloth merchant, 1516-1522 member of the Corpus Christi Fraternity at St Stephen´s, 1521 wrote a pamphlet rejecting the papal doctrines; declared himself a follower of Lutheran doctrine and, unwilling to recant his faith, was sentenced to death.
