Szabo, Wilhelm


Szabo, Wilhelm, b. Vienna, Aug. 30, 1901, d. Vienna, June 14, 1986, poet, translator, teacher and secondary school headmaster. During World War II worked as reader for a publisher in Munich. His poetry is simple in form and free from clichés, and is characterised by the experience of the otherness of nature. Friend of W. Sachs.1954 awarded the Trakl Prize.
