Stoß, Franz, b. Vienna, May 28, 1909, d. Steinbach am Attersee (Upper Austria), June 21, 1995, actor, director, theatre manager. 1934-1940 manager of the Stadttheater Troppau (now Opava, Czech Republic), 1940-1942 of the Städtische Bühnen Teplitz-Schönau (now Teplice-Šanov, Czech Republic), 1943-1945 of the "Berliner Künstlerbühnen"; 1945-1951 of the "Wiener Bürgertheater", 1951-1977 of the "Theater in der Josefstadt" (1954-1958 with E. Haeusserman). As an actor played mostly comical parts; performances in films and on TV (gained great popularity with the TV serial "Die liebe Familie").
