Sportler, Sportlerin des JahresSportswoman/man of the year, have been elected by the Austrian sports journalists every year since 1949; the winners are honoured at festivities held by the press. The following sportswomen/men were awarded this title several times: T. Sailer (1956-1958), K. Schranz (1959, 1962, 1970), E. Danzer (1966/67), A. Moser-Pröll (1973-1975 and 1977-1980), F. Klammer (1975/76 and 1983), A. Kogler (1979 and 1981/82), C. Kristofics-Binder (1981/82), P. Seisenbacher and P. Kronberger (1990-1992).
