Slanar, HansSlanar, Hans, b. Vienna, Aug. 4, 1890, d. Vienna, Aug. 9, 1955, geographer, grammar school principal, contributed to the school reform initiated by O. Glöckel; 1945/46 chief co-ordinator of the survey of Austria, teacher at the Vienna Institute of Education, lecturer at the University of Vienna from 1945. Works: atlas for secondary education schools and similar institutions, 1928; Arbeits- und Lernbuch der Erdkunde, 7 vols., 1929-1937; Ö. Vaterlandskunde, 1937; Erdkunde, 4 vols., 1947-1949; Ö. Mittelschulatlas, 1951 (new edition of the "Kozenn").
