Second son of Leopold V and Claudia von Medici. Became bishop of Augsburg without consecration in 1646, bishop of Gurk in 1653 and bishop of Trento in 1659; after the death of his brother Ferdinand Karl sovereign of the Tyrol; renounced all ecclesiastical posts in 1665 and contemplated marriage but died beforehand.
