Composer, conductor, teacher, musicographer. One of the most successful composers for the theatre of the early 19th century in Vienna; pupil of W. A. Mozart, J. G. Albrechtsberger, L. A. Kozeluch and P. Winter; was a friend of L. van Beethoven and directed the premiere of the latter´s opera "Fidelio".
