Sekundogenitur


Secundogeniture, in a dynasty or ruling house, the collateral line founded by any of the sons other than the first-born. Examples in Austrian history are Heinrich von Mödling of the Babenbergs, Leopold (1765) and Ferdinand (1791) in Tuscany and Franz (1814) in Modena of the Habsburgs.
