Seidel, HansSeidel, Hans, b. Vienna, Oct. 14, 1922, economist. Studied at the University of Economics in Vienna; 1946-1980 at the Austrian Institute of Economic Research; 1981-1983 State Secretary in the Ministry of Finance; 1984-1991 head of the Institut für Höhere Studien (Institute of Advanced Studies). His numerous publications deal with questions of economic cycles and regional research as well as industrial and financial policy.
