Narrative writer and dramatist, priest in Inzing near Zirl; 1856-1863 editor of the "Spiegelkalender". Author of patriotic stories, fought for the preservation of Tyrolean customs and traditions. Works: Narratives: Dorfgeschichten, 1857 and 1884; Erzählungen aus der vaterländischen Geschichte, 1860; Erzählungen aus dem Tiroler Volksleben, 1868; Rosen vom Berge Sinai, 1875; Erzählungen ernsten und heiteren Inhalts, 1890. - Novel: Rufinus, 1865. - Dramas: Die heilige Elisabeth, 1856; Gudrun, 1858. - Autobiographical work: Freuden und Leiden eines Landgeistlichen, 2 vols., 1859/60.
