Schönthal, OttoSchönthal, Otto, b. Vienna, Aug. 10, 1878, d. Vienna, Dec. 31, 1961. Architect. Studied with O. Wagner from 1898-1902, then worked as Wagner´s assistant in the latter´s atelier; from 1909 published the journal "Der Architekt"; 1909-1918 atelier with E. Hoppe and M. Kammerer; probably the intellectual head of this group of architects. When Kammerer left he continued with Hoppe until 1938; in exile during the Nazi era; after 1945 had his own atelier in Vienna.
