SchmelzSchmelz, Vienna, extensive elevated grassland area west of the city, now part of the 15th district. Until 1865 location of a smeltery, 1847-1918 parade and drill grounds, from 1910 some parts divided into lots and built up, now covered almost completely with allotment gardens, sports grounds and houses.
