Schletterer Schlederer, Schletter, Jakob Christoph


Schletterer (Schlederer, Schletter), Jakob Christoph, b. Wenns (Tyrol), July 22, 1699, d. Vienna, May 19, 1774. Sculptor of the baroque age. About 1727 with G. R. Donner in Salzburg (Mirabell Palace), from 1751 teacher at the Academy in Vienna.


Works: Vienna: triumphal columns of the Karlskirche (with J. C. Mader and J. B. Straub); tombs of the Harrach family (Deutschordenskirche), Daun family (Augustinerkirche) and Khevenhüller family (Schottenkirche); figures in Schönbrunn Park. - Altar figures in Lower Austria: Zwettl Abbey, 1732-1734; Altenburg Abbey, 1735; parish church of the city of Krems, 1736; St. Pölten cathedral, 1744; parish church Stein, 1756; pilgrimage church Sonntagberg, 1756; collegiate church Geras, 1773; parish church Pöchlarn, 1773.
