Gmunden (Upper Austria), Sept. 26, 1842. Patriotic poet. 1794 office clerk in Velm, 1814 administrator and district commissioner of the Upper Austrian state domain Sierning, 1829 administrator of the imperial salt-works domain Ort am Traunsee. Awarded title of "wirklicher Bergrat" in 1837. Wrote ballads, nature poems, epigrams, songs, fables and instructive poetry; friends included Anastasius Grün, E. von Bauernfeld and N. Lenau.
