SchleicherlaufenSchleicherlaufen, masked parade in Telfs (Tirol), organised every 5 years, formerly on the last Thursday, now on a Sunday in Fasching and, like the Schemenlaufen at Imst, a very popular custom. Among the many masked characters, impersonated only by men, the "Schleicher", giving the parade its name, are particularly remarkable. They wear small bells on their belts and a heavy, fantastic structure on the head (the "Schleicherhut" hat). They sneak about quietly and suddenly jump up making lots of noise and dance about.
