Graduated in law in Vienna in 1932, after traineeships and a period of study in London qualified as a university lecturer in Berlin in 1935 and taught at several German universities; 1939-1943 professor at Prague University, was then conscripted into the army and taken prisoner of war; 1950-1974 company lawyer for the Creditanstalt, 1962-1980 professor at the Vienna University of World Trade as well as arbitrator in international affairs (expert witness of the United Nations Commission of International Trade Law). Works: Schutz von Volk und Staat im engl. Recht, 1935; Wirkungskreis und Organisation der Staatsanwaltschaften, 1938; Bankverträge, 3 vols., 1957-1959.
