Schindler, Friedrich WilhelmSchindler, Friedrich Wilhelm, b. Mollis (Switzerland), June 1, 1856, d. Kennelbach (Vorarlberg), Nov. 19, 1920. Entrepreneur and inventor. Pioneer of power industry and electrical engineering; in 1907 he founded the electric power company "Jenny & Schindler", which was converted into the "Vorarlberger Kraftwerke GmbH" in 1916. Numerous patents for electro-thermal appliances. In 1893 exhibited the first fully electronic kitchen at the world exhibition in Chicago. In 1898 founded "Elektra" company (since 1901 "Elektra Bregenz"). Literature: ÖBL.
