Schindler, Anton Felix


Schindler, Anton Felix, b. Medlov, Czech Republic (then Meedl), June 13, 1795 d. Bockenheim near Frankfurt am Main (Germany), Jan. 16, 1864. Musician. Trusted companion and first biographer of L. van Beethoven, whom he first met in 1814, from 1820 his secretary and factotum, manager of the Theater in der Josefstadt. Sold large parts of Beethoven documents to the Royal Library in Berlin. Produced numerous forgeries of Beethoven conversation books.
