Sankt Johann bei HerbersteinSankt Johann bei Herberstein, Styria, municipality in the district of Hartberg, alt. 421 m, pop. 291, area 2.85 km2, at the end of the Feistritzklamm Gorge. - Haus der Frauen (recreation home and educational centre run by the diocese); wood processing, some summer tourism. - In the vestry of the parish church, (since 1655) frescoes (1730) by J. C. Hackhofer, painting of the Virgin of the Rosary (1726) by Mathias von Görtz, family tomb of the counts of Herberstein; Augustinian hermitage monastery 1652-1820, statue of the Virgin Mary (17th century), outer wall with immured Roman stones; Abraham a Sancta Clara lived here from 1670 to 1676.
