Sankt Georgen im AttergauSankt Georgen im Attergau, Upper Austria, market town in the district of Vöcklabruck, alt. 540 m, pop. 3,652 (1981: pop. 3,404), area 15.44 km2, summer tourist resort (165,050 overnight stays in 1992) north-west of Lake Attersee; Attergauer Kultursommer (summer festival). - Caritas refugee counselling centre, recreation and rehabilitation centre; building industry, wood processing, production of safes. - Late Gothic hall church with net vault and a tower, which was extended to a height of 72 m by J. Pawanger in 1722, richly decorated late Gothic south portal, decorations and furniture from of the 18th century, altar-piece by B. Altomonte (1755); Calvary church (1679), remodelled between 1862 and 1869.
