Sandrock, Adele, b. Rotterdam (Netherlands), Aug. 19, 1863 (sic!), d. Berlin (Germany), Aug. 30, 1937, film and theatre actress. After engagements at various German provincial theatres and at the Meininger Hoftheater she came to Vienna, 1889-1895 and 1902-1905 at the German Volkstheater, 1896-1898 Burgtheater (tragedienne, demonic female figures); M. Reinhardt brought her to Berlin; guest performances and films (mainly comic parts); relationships with A. Schnitzler and A. Roda Roda.
