SamoSamo, Frankish merchant, made king (623?-660) by the Slavs after a rebellion against the Avars. His Slavic kingdom extended from Bohemia to Carantania, defeated the Franks in 631/32 at Wogastisburg (Kadan, Czech Republic) and remained victorious against the Langobardi and Avars. His kingdom fell apart after his death around 660.
