Salzflora

Halophytes: characteristic Eurasian saline and salt steppe flora, growing in the Seewinkel Area in the province of Burgenland, on the eastern shore of Lake Neusiedl, rarely found in Europe: Lepidium cartilagineum (L. crassifolium), mainly in conjunction with puccinellia peisonis (or Lake Neusiedl-saltmarsh grasses; especially on the sandy saline soils of the Seewinkel Area), sea purslane, glasswort and camphor-fume.

Literature: G. Wendelberger, Zur Soziologie der kontinentalen Halophytenvegetation Mitteleuropas, unter besonderer Berücksichtigung der Salzpflanzengesellschaften am Neusiedler See, 1950; W. Adler, K. Oswald and R. Fischer, Exkursionsflora von Österreich, 1994.
