Ruhm, FranzRuhm, Franz, b. Brunn am Gebirge (Lower Austria), July 31, 1896, d. Purkersdorf (Lower Austria), March 20, 1966, taught cooking and wrote specialised literature on cookery. Originally confectioner; from 1928 gave radio talks on Viennese and Austrian cuisine and directed and appeared in television programmes. His recipes are considered classics of Austrian cuisine and are still being published in new editions. Wrote plays under the pseudonym of "Frank Raymon". Publications: Wiener Küche (monthly 1930-1944, quarterly 1948ff.); Kochbuch für alle, 1933; Einsieden, 1933. - Dramas: Colombine; Geschwistertragödie; Der Onkel; Erni Behaim.
