Vienna, April 14, 1882, architect. Promoted by Prince Metternich; from the 1840s collaborated with A. Schwendenwein von Lonauberg, though it is unclear to what extent. R. and Schwendenwein specialized in the architecture of castles and luxurious houses. They combined the late Romantic and the early Ringstraße periods and their works displayed baroque elements from very early on. Works: Vienna: Palais Metternich, 1848 (today Italian embassy); Festetics Palace, 1859; Schey Palace, 1864 (the "Ringstraßenpalais"); Dumba Palace, 1866. - Erdödy Castle in Vép (Hungary), 1847; Wolfsberg Castle (Carinthia), 1853.
