Rindt, JochenRindt, Jochen, b. Mainz (Germany), April 18, 1942, d. Monza (Italy), Sept. 5, 1970, racing driver. Rindt drove in Formula One races as a German national with an Austrian licence from 1964, won the Le Mans 24-hour-race in 1965, won 6 Grand Prix races before 1970, when he was killed in an accident during training for the Italian Grand Prix; was posthumously declared Formula One world champion.
