RHI AG


RHI AG, industrial group with world-wide activities, founded in 1987 (under the name of Radex-Heraklith Industriebeteiligungs AG until 1998) with headquarters in Vienna; activities: refractory products, sealing and insulating materials, engineering. World leader in refractory products (supplier to the metal, cement and glass industries); engineering activities include the construction of lime kilns and smelting furnaces for the aluminium and copper industries and air heaters for the steel industry; RHI's Heraklith is one of the most important insulating materials in Europe; while Vedag-Villas makes the company the market leader for bituminous sealing materials. The group's most important Austrian subsidiary in the field of refractory products is (see)Veitsch-Radex GmbH, which was fully integrated into RHI AG in 1999. Its principal production sites are located at Fürnitz, Ferndorf (both in Carinthia) and Wels (Upper Austria); with a staff of 10,412 employees in more than 50 locations worldwide RHI AG reported sales in the order of ATS 22.1 billion in 1998. Listed as a public corporation on the stock exchanges of Vienna, Frankfurt am Main and Munich.
