Reithoffer, MaxReithoffer, Max, b. Vienna, Oct. 27, 1864, d. Vienna, March 10, 1945, electrical engineer. Studied physics, mathematics and philosophy at the University of Vienna. Embarked on his scientific career in 1891 as teaching assistant at Vienna University of Technology, where he became Professor of Electrical Engineering in 1908, and later Professor of Radio Technology and Electrical Oscillations; head of the Department of Electrical Engineering Institute of Vienna University of Technology from 1925 to 1933.
