Reiser, FridolinReiser, Fridolin, b. Gammertingen (Germany), March 16, 1843, d. Leoben (Styria), Nov. 16, 1909, metallurgist. 1868-1872 and 1894-1908 worked at Böhler in Kapfenberg. Pioneer in the production of crucible steel; 1868 operated the first Siemens-Martin furnace for the production of steel and developed the "Böhler-Rapid" high-speed steel. Literature: ÖBL.
