Reich, WilliReich, Willi, b. Vienna, May 27, 1898, d. Zurich (Switzerland), May 1, 1980, musicologist and music journalist. Studied under A. Berg and A. von Webern; editor of the periodical for new music "23" (1932-1937), contributor to the "Fackel". Emigrated to Switzerland in 1938, from 1948 he worked for the "Neue Zürcher Zeitung" and from 1959 taught at the Technical University in Zürich. Works: A. Berg, 1937 and 1963; Romantiker der Musik, 1947; Musik in unserer Zeit, 1955; R. Strauss, 1967. - Numerous essays on contemporary music.
