RechtsanwaltskammernBar Associations, professional organisations in each Austrian province, acting as representative body and interest group for practising lawyers (Rechtsanwälte), established by law in 1849; its organs are elected. Bar associations are entitled to impose disciplinary punishments for breaches of professional ethics. The Bar Association Meeting deals with significant matters affecting the profession.
