RauristalRauris Valley, province of Salzburg, southern lateral valley of the Salzach Valley, situated in the lower Pinzgau region, drained by the Rauriser Ache river. The valley starts near Wörth (alt. 958 m) where the western Seidlwinkl Valley and the eastern Hüttwinkl Valley meet. These valleys start in the southern part of the Hoher Sonnblick Valley (alt. 3,106 m) in the Hohe Tauern Range, the end of the valley is formed by the Kitzlochklamm gorge. The main town is Rauris (alt. 948 m), situated in the upper part of the valley. The Rauris valley was one of the first in the Hohe Tauern region to be inhabited. Ancient gold mining site.
