Rastatt, Frieden vonPeace of Rastatt, based on the Treaty of Utrecht (1713), put an end to the War of the Spanish Succession between Austria and France on March 6, 1714. The treaty was negotiated by Prince Eugène of Savoy; under its provisions Austria received the Spanish Netherlands (Belgium and Luxemburg), Milan, Mantua, Naples and Sardinia in exchange for abdicating the Spanish crown; it also contained a clause regarding the exchange of the Netherlands for Bavaria.
