Rahner, Karl, b. Freiburg im Breisgau (Germany), March 5, 1904, d. Innsbruck (Tyrol), March 31, 1984, theologist, dogmatist, religious philosopher, Jesuit, brother of Hugo Rahner. 1949-1964 Professor at Innsbruck University, 1964-1971 in Munich and Münster. Influential consultant to the Second Vatican Council, co-editor of the "Lexikon für Theologie and Kirche".


Works: Geist in Welt, 1939; Hörer des Wortes, 1941; Visionen und Prophezeiungen, 1952; Schriften zur Theologie, 14 vols., 1954-1980; Sendung und Gnade, 1959; Grundkurs des Glaubens, 1976.
