Summits: Weißeck (alt. 2,711 m), Hochfeind (alt. 2,687 m), Mosermandl (alt. 2,680 m). The Radstädter Tauern Mountains are part of the Central Alps and have a very complex geological nappe structure consisting of crystalline schists and limestone at the end of the Tauern window, with rocky summits and ridges bordered by detrital slopes. Although the mountains are non-glaciated, many have cirques and cirque lakes formed by ice age glaciation. Mountain refuges: Franz Fischer Hütte (alt. 2,018 m) located on Lake Zaunersee, Tappenkarseehütte (alt. 1,820 m), Südwiener Hütte (alt. 1,802 m); ski resorts near Wagrain and Großarl ("Wagrainer Spaziergang" / Wagrain Walk), at Flachauwinkel, Altenmarkt-Zauchensee and Obertauern.
