Prottes


Prottes, Lower Austria, market town in the district of Gänserndorf, alt. 162 m, pop. 1,221, area 13.71 km2, situated on the southern edge of the Weinviertel region, bordering on the Marchfeld plain. - Indoor sports facility, oil and natural gas extraction (ca. 210 probes within the town limits), construction firms. - Romanesque-Gothic parish church (rebuilt in Baroque style in 1740) with a baptismal font dating from 1554. Open air museum with educational trails on the extraction of oil and natural gas.
