Protestantengesetz -patentProtestantism, Imperial Decree on: The Imperial decree of April 8, 1861 re-regulated the legal rights of Protestants in Austria, who were given a certain amount of freedom regarding the internal affairs of their religious community, which was, however, subject to supervision by the local rulers or princes. The "Federal Act on the External Legal Relationships of the Protestant Church" passed on July 6, 1961 replaced the Imperial decree on Protestantism and granted the Protestant Church complete internal freedom as stipulated in the cultural affairs programme of Federal Minister H.
