Prohaska, FelixProhaska, Felix, b. Vienna, May 16, 1912, d. Vienna, Jan. 24, 1991, conductor. Son of the composer Karl P. (1869-1927); conductor at the operas in Duisburg, Strasbourg, Prague, Salzburg and at the Vienna Volksoper (1946-1955); 1955-1961 general musical director in Frankfurt a. Main, then teacher at the music school in Hanover. For a short period also taught at the Vienna Conservatory and at the Vienna Musikhochschule*.
