Vienna, March 7, 1939, Social Democratic politician and journalist, leading representative of the Women's Movement in Austria. Worked in a factory from the age of 8, 1889 member of the Viennese association for the education of working women and 1893-1934 editor-in-charge of the feminist paper "Arbeiterinnen-Zeitung" founded in 1892, 1903-1933 member of the executive committee of the Social Democratic Workers' Party (SDAP). 1894 married the politician J. Popp. 1918-1923 member of the Vienna municipal council, 1919-1920 member of the Constituent National Assembly, 1920-1934 member of the Nationalrat.
