Plattensteiner, Richard Pseudonym: Robert Palten


Plattensteiner, Richard (pseudonym: Robert Palten), b. Vienna, March 18, 1878, d. Vienna, July 18, 1956, dialect poet, narrative writer. From 1898 was a travelling elocutionist, promulgated the works of P. Rosegger and F. Stelzhamer and became famous for his delivery of them; also dealt with these authors in his own works.


Works: Poetry: Das Lied vom Steffel, 1916; Was mich angeht, 1939; Wr. Gedichte, 1943. - Prosa: Der Schusterfranzl, 1908 (narrative about F. Stelzhamer); Die Leut vom Hochkogl, 1918; Ein dt. Ekkehard, 1928 (biograph. novel about P. Rosegger). - Dramas: Frau Not, 1908 (popular play about F. Stelzhamer); Der Grillparzer Franz und seine Kathi, 1915; Beethoven, 1916.
