Plasser & Theurer


Plasser & Theurer, the world's largest producer of railway track maintenance and track-laying machines. In 1953 construction of the first track-tamping machine in Linz, with 9 employees, since 1987 production of machines for fully integrated track maintenance. Has exported more than 10,000 large-scale machines to 90 countries. As well as the main plant in Linz (about 1,000 employees), it produces machines in 14 countries, with 3,000 employees world-wide. It accounts for about 6 % of total Austrian exports of the machinery and iron and steel construction industry.
