Planyavsky, AlfredPlanyavsky, Alfred, b. Vienna, Jan. 22, 1924, double-bass player; father of Peter Planyavksy. Trained as a tenor; from 1957 member of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra, from 1967 member of the Court Chapel. 1974 founded the Wiener Kontrabass-Archiv (music-collection of the National Library); retired in 1989.
