Pichelmayer, Karl - Pilgrim II. (23/24)
Pilgram, Anton Pilgrim II.

Pilgrim I.

Pilgrim I, d. Passau (Germany), May 20, 991, Bishop of Passau. 971 mentioned in documents, tried to convert the Danube region to Christianity. With forged documents (Lorcher Fälschungen) tried to make Passau an archbishopric independent of Salzburg for Austria, Hungary and Moravia. According to more recent research (H. Koller) these documents could have been forged on the orders of the Archbishop Konrad II of Salzburg (1164-1168) and attributed to Pilgrim.
