Pichler, Fritz Friedrich


Pichler, Fritz (Friedrich), b. Klagenfurt (Carinthia), July 7, 1834, d. Graz (Styria), Nov. 11, 1911, historian, archaeologist, poet. Head of the Noric School of Poets, worked at the Joanneum in Graz and university professor of numismatics and heraldry.


Works: Repertorium der steir. Münzkunde, 2 vols., 1865/1867; Das hist. Museum im Joanneum, 1876 (41886); Das Landeszeughaus in Graz, 2 parts, 1880; Röm. Alpenstraßen in den Ostalpen, 1888. - Ballads and narratives (e.g. in Carinthia I, 1856-1867), dramas.
