Philipp I (the Handsome), b. Bruges (Belgium), June 22, 1478, d. Burgos (Spain), Sept. 25, 1506, King of Castile, son of Emperor Maximilian I and his 1st wife Mary of Burgundy, grew up in the Netherlands, married Johanna of Castile in 1496 and through his sons Karl V and Ferdinand I continued the lineage of the Habsburgs (with 2 lines) into modern times.
