Lived in Germany, settled 1943 in Vienna and finally in Salzburg. Grave of honour at the Vienna Zentralfriedhof cemetery. Works: 8 dramas (Der arme Heinrich, 1895; Palestrina, 1917). -Vocal works (mainly songs), sonatas, instrumental works. Literature: J. P. Vogel, H. P. Leben, Werke, Dokumente, 1999.
