Salzburg, May 22, 1949, German composer of classical-romantic tradition, pianist, conductor. Lived in Germany, settled 1943 in Vienna and finally in Salzburg. Grave of honour at the Vienna Zentralfriedhof cemetery. Works: 8 dramas (Der arme Heinrich, 1895; Palestrina, 1917). -Vocal works (mainly songs), sonatas, instrumental works. Literature: J. P.
