Peithner von Lichtenfels, EduardPeithner von Lichtenfels, Eduard, b. Vienna, Nov. 18, 1833, d. Berlin (Germany), Jan. 22, 1913, landscape painter. 1872-1902 taught landscape painting at the Vienna Academy, after retirement worked in Nuremberg and Berlin. His early work consists mainly of dramatic, highly detailed presentations of landscapes, later more intimate, lyrical depiction of nature. Literature: ÖBL.
