Bratislava, Slovakia (then Preßburg), March 19, 1637, Jesuit, theological author. Studied in Krakow, Vienna and Rome and taught (until 1616) at the University of Graz; 1617 Archbishop of Gran, 1629 cardinal. 1623 constructed the Pazmaneum in Vienna (seminary for Hungarian students) and the seminary in Tyrnau, which was later made a university and subsequently became the University of Budapest.
