Passail


Passail, Styria, market town in the district of Weiz, alt. 653 m, pop. 1,832, area 13.78 km2, summer tourism centre situated on the banks of Upper Raab, in the Graz Hill Country. - Leisure activities centre, DIY shop, wood processing, underwear factory, building companies. - Deanery church in Gothic style (documented mention in 1240, rebuilt in the 17th  century, choir 1667) with frescoes by J. A. Mölk; St. Anna church (1510) on Lindenberg Mountain (alt. 726 m) with high altar in auricular style (mid 17th century). Raabklamm and Weizklamm gorges, Rablloch and Katerloch pot holes and Grasslhöhle cave are nearby.
