Parhamer, Ignaz, b. Schwanenstadt (Upper Austria), June 15, 1715, Vienna, April 1, 1786, educationalist, Jesuit. Promoted school attendance among the city population, especially religious education, wrote catechisms and enlarged the Christian teaching brotherhood. From 1759 managed the Viennese orphanage in a military style, making it a role model for similar institutions in the Austrian monarchy.
